Project description
The sand moving along the shores of Lake Peipsi is blocking shipping lanes with significant storms. As a result, the shipping lanes need to be constantly deepened. Dredging is costly and always involves environmental risks. The goal set by the customer was to design a berth for small boats and other things that would ensure the self-cleaning of the fairway. We modeled different pier configurations during the work, and a solution was found in which the high spring water with the prevailing winds creates a self-cleaning current on the fairway.
